Treatments/Facials & Clinical Skin Care/HydraFacial

As we begin to understand the importance of good skin health, many of us are now incorporating more advanced skincare treatments into our regular skincare regime. A Hydrafacial is a popular dermatological procedure designed to give the skin a deep, exfoliating cleanse. It also treats areas of concern, such as hyperpigmentation, scarring and acne.

Using a patented system, the Hydrafacial provides a three-step approach to cleanse, exfoliate and infuse the skin with intensive hydrating serums and antioxidants. Clients will walk away with a smooth, refreshed complexion and a radiating glow.

Hydrafacial’s instant rejuvenating effect makes it a popular choice for those looking for single treatments ahead of special social events and occasions. However, to benefit the most from a Hydrafacial treatment, we recommend incorporating it into your regular skincare regime to ensure your skin is always at its healthiest.

A Hydrafacial is a non-laser skin resurfacing treatment that improves skin texture and tone whilst directly applying hydrating and moisturising serums. It results in visible skin refinement and hydration.

The Hydrafacial involves three main steps:

  1. Exfoliation and cleansing. Hydrafacial treatments use a gentle lymphatic drainage method called hydra-dermabrasion, a gentle exfoliation using pressurised water and oxygen to gently yet effectively remove the top layer of damaged, dead skin cells.
  2. Extraction and hydration. We use the gentle vacuuming effect of the Hydrafacial hydra-dermabrasion tool to extract impurities, excess oil and sebum whilst simultaneously unblocking pores. This non-abrasive approach makes it particularly well suited to those with sensitive yet oily skin.
  3. Infusion and protection. We use a bespoke, concentrated serum of target agents, such as antioxidants, vitamins and hyaluronic acid, which is then directly applied to the freshly-cleansed area. This brightens your skin and leaves it smooth and glowing.

Hydrafacials are a great choice, targeting a range of skin issues from dull complexion to acne. Clients will notice an overall improvement in the texture of the skin, as well its tone and general appearance. The customisation of the serum applied also allows for specific areas to be targeted directly, such as blemishes, dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles.

This is also an excellent choice for sensitive skin since it uses a very gentle application process. For those who are looking to improve the appearance of their skin but are concerned about the side effects and harshness of treatments such as a chemical peel, a Hydrafacial is a great choice.

A Hydrafacial at NEO Health Clinic is fast and efficient. There is no downtime for this treatment, and the quick treatment session of approximately 30 minutes makes a Hydrafacial an ideal skin rejuvenation treatment.

As an advanced facial treatment, a Hydrafacial is highly customisable to address your specific skincare needs. As one of the most hydrating skin solutions, it is considered by skin experts to be a great treatment for a plethora of skin conditions. From stimulating the natural production of collagen to encourage anti ageing effects in the skin to the treatment of rosacea, a Hydrafacial is a great non invasive way to achieve more healthy skin.

Many clients find Hydrafacial to be a great treatment to improve the appearance of their skin before a big event.

A Hydrafacial is a very gentle procedure with only a mild tugging effect felt from the vacuuming motion. Unlike other skin resurfacing techniques, there is no need for needles, injectables, lasers or harsh abrasives. Clients may experience some minor tightness and redness in the skin for some hours after treatment.

During a Hydrafacial, you will not experience any sensation of burning, scraping, pulling, needling or abrasion; rather, it is a gentle, satisfying sensation, sometimes compared to a light massage.

The non-invasive, gentle approach is ideal for delicate areas, such as around the eyes and neck.

As a gentle, non-invasive treatment, a Hydrafacial can address several skin complaints and cosmetic problems.

Acne

When used regularly as part of a routine treatment, a Hydrafacial is a particularly effective treatment for managing and preventing acne and breakouts. The vacuum technology physically draws out whiteheads (closed comedones) and black heads (open comedones) to unblock pores. A Hydrafacial improves the health of congested skin using anti-inflammatory and antibacterial serums, which provide a deep cleanse not comparable to any manual technique.

We recommend a treatment every 3-4 weeks for maximal results.

Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation is a common condition which can make the skin look older than it is and leave you feeling self-conscious.

Hyperpigmentation occurs due to an overproduction of melanin. A Hydrafacial can be an effective treatment for this, thanks to the vitamins and minerals infused into your skin during the treatment, which reduces its appearance.

Scarring

Acne scarring is one of the most common aesthetic complaints. A Hydrafacial can be incredibly beneficial for those struggling with scarring on the skin’s surface. This is thanks to the exfoliation process involved in the treatment.

Since the entire top layer of the skin is gently removed, it can almost completely reduce the appearance of surface-level scarring. For deeper scars, it can be effective after several applications, leaving your skin brighter and even-toned.

For particularly stubborn scars, microdermabrasion and other skin resurfacing procedures might be more suitable.

Sun damage

Many people assume that the only effective treatment for sun damage and spots on the skin’s surface is laser therapies and photofacials.

While these treatments do produce effective results, they do carry risks and are much more invasive treatments than a Hydrafacial, which reduces the appearance of sunspots thanks to its hydrating and rejuvenating effects.

Wrinkles and fine lines

Wrinkles are a natural part of the ageing process, but many wish to reduce their appearance. By removing dead skin cells, the Hydrafacial cosmetic treatment has an anti ageing effect. It will make any lines and creases less noticeable.

Enlarged pores

Hydrafacials can help shrink enlarged pores. The buildup of sebum, dirt and excess oils in the pores can cause them to appear enlarged. The use of painless suction for gentle lymphatic drainage extracts impurities and dirt and improves the appearance of stressed, dull skin.

Rosacea

Hydrafacial can help improve the appearance of rosacea and reduce redness thanks to its infusion of calming serums.

Sagging skin

Hydrafacials can improve the appearance of skin sagging thanks to their stimulation of collagen production. The active ingredients in the moisturisers and serums applied during a Hydrafacial mean stimulate collagen and quench skin, improving skin elasticity.

One of the benefits of the Hydrafacial is that, as a non-invasive treatment, it does not require any aftercare or recovery time.

However, since it is a deep cleansing facial, it is essential that you keep up with good skincare and avoid any harsh chemicals after your treatment.

Below are our tips for caring for your skin after Hydrafacial treatments.

Avoid harsh toners after your treatment

While toners usually work to reduce excess oil and stubborn makeup or impurities, since your skin will be sensitive after a Hydrafacial, they could induce dryness or irritation.

Avoid intense physical activity

Since your skin will be sensitive after exfoliation, the heat and sweat your body produces during a workout could irritate your skin.

Limit sun exposure

Deep cleansing leaves your skin more sensitive to the sun, so make sure you use sunscreen.

Your sunscreen should be fragrance-free and formulated for sensitive skin.

Avoid at-home treatments

At-home beauty products such as face masks, peels and retinol can be harsh. They may contain chemicals such as salicylic acid, which may irritate your exfoliated skin.

Avoid laser and wax treatments for a week after your treatment

Since facial lasering, waxing and other hair removal treatments can have an exfoliating effect, it is best to avoid these for a short period after Hydrafacial aesthetic treatments. They may be too harsh after your skin has already been deeply cleansed.

Due to its mild, non-invasive, non-abrasive technology, a Hydrafacial can be used on all skin types, including sensitive and ageing skin. With treatments as short as 30 minutes and zero downtime, a Hydrafacial is becoming a popular lunchtime cosmetic procedure.

Thanks to its customisable nature and non-invasive application, a Hydrafacial is even suitable for younger clients. Younger clients find the Hydrafacial a great choice when preparing for an event or looking for a solution to acne.

We do not recommend the treatment for clients who are suffering from active rashes and skin infections or those with sunburnt skin. We also advise pregnant clients against this treatment.

You will see immediate results with the Hydrafacial, but many clients choose a monthly treatment for the best results. Since a Hydrafacial has no downtime or risk of side effects, you can repeat it as often as needed to provide buildable benefits and keep your skin glowing.

At NEO Health Clinic, all our skincare treatments are performed by well-trained, highly skilled NEO Health Clinic nurse practitioners. The health of your skin is important and how it’s treated and cared for should be a priority.

Before your Hydrafacial treatment, we will analyse the condition and general health of your skin during your initial consultation. We will then create a bespoke treatment plan to revitalise and refresh your skin in a way that is best suited to your skin type, your lifestyle and your personal preferences and expectations.
