What is Polynucleotide Treatment?

Polynucleotides are an effective aesthetic treatment and are a form of regenerative injectables which successfully rejuvenate the skin in a similar way to other available skin boosters.

However unlike other skin boosters, Polynucleotides are recognised for their wound healing and bio-stimulating abilities allowing for successful rejuvenation of the skin, and thus achieving natural results.

Polynucleotides are subjected to a filtering and purifying process which works to produce natural DNA fractions, which have great rejuvenation properties. In addition to these rejuvenating properties, the polynucleotides also bear antioxidant properties to ensure reduced inflammation and increased hydration in the skin, encouraging a youthful and refreshed appearance.

Polynucleotides can be used to address a variety of different skin concerns and conditions including ageing, acne, scarring, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, dehydration, deep lines and wrinkles.

At NEO Health Clinic we recognise that each client is unique, and you can always expect to receive the highest standard of treatment and care. Our clients receive a full consultation by one of our specialists to understand your concerns before creating a tailored plan.

Treatment Areas

At NEO Health Clinic, we offer polynucleotide injections to smooth out the skin tone and surface in various areas including the abdomen, cheekbones, decolletage, face, forehead, inner arms, knees, jawline, mouth, neck and under the eyes.

How to prepare for the treatment?

Our NEO specialists always discuss preparations with clients to ensure the next steps.

For Polynucleotide treatment, there are no specific preparations needed. However, you may be asked to stop taking certain medications to prevent bruising or bleeding from worsening. Remember, a specialist will discuss the necessary steps to be taken before the procedure.

How does the Polynucleotide treatment work?

Polynucleotide treatment works by injecting the biostimulator into the desired treatment area which stimulates fibroblasts which in turn boosts collagen production. As a consequence, elasticity and hydration will be improved leading to a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.

What DNA is being used in polynucleotide treatment?

The DNA used in polynucleotide treatment originates from salmon. Salmon DNA is in fact very similar to human DNA. However, for polynucleotide treatment we are only using fractions of DNA which has been subjected to a clinical filtration and ultra-purification process. As a result of this, no salmon ‘matter’ remains in the DNA used for treatment and therefore even those allergic to fish and salmon specifically are safe to receive polynucleotide treatment.

What can polynucleotides be used to treat?

Polynucleotides can be used as an effective treatment for a variety of different concerns such as general signs of ageing, preparation and recovery pre/post procedures and surgeries, acne, atrophic scarring, deep lines and wrinkles, dehydrated skin, elastosis, hyperpigmentation, rosacea and scarring.

FAQ

Dermal fillers typically focus on addressing volume loss. Polynucleotide treatment focuses on enhancing the skin’s natural regeneration capabilities and improving the skin’s overall health and appearance from within.

Dermal fillers are usually made from a synthetic version of hyaluronic acid and act as ‘implants’ in the skin to volumise, hydrate and improve skin folds, wrinkles etc. Whilst dermal fillers can be amazing for some skin concerns there are occasions when a dermal filler is not the right choice and polynucleotides are more appropriate.

Polynucleotides are used to rejuvenate the skin and improve overall skin quality whilst dermal fillers add volume to treated areas, to give structure, definition, and contour to the face. Dermal fillers are immediate and effective at restoring lost volume, which can give a dramatic anti-aging effect. Polynucleotides, on the other hand, work gradually and subtlety over time, targeting the underlying causes of aging for more lasting changes.

Yes! During your initial consultation with our NEO specialist, you will be able to explore all the options available to you to achieve your desired outcomes. Polynucleotide injections can be used in combination with a range of other treatments available at NEO Health Clinic including Anti-Wrinkle Injections, Dermal Fillers, Profhilo and Radiofrequency Microneedling.

As polynucleotide injections can improve skin texture and function, positive results can be achieved in many areas of the body. Polynucleotide injections are particularly popular under the eye area where it can improve the skin strength and integrity.

In addition, positive results can be achieved in other areas of the face including the cheekbones, forehead, jawline and mouth. Beyond the face, polynucleotide injections can also be used in areas of the body prone to loose skin including the abdomen, above the knee, decolletage, inner arm, neck, jawline, neck and cheekbones.

At NEO Health Clinic, we understand that everyone is unique and may require different preferences. Generally, for the best results, we recommend two to three treatment sessions are administered approximately four weeks apart.

The procedure usually takes 15-30 minutes with little to no recovery time.

Polynucleotide treatment is not painful, but every individual’s pain tolerance can differ. Some people may feel a slight sting as the needle is injected. Besides that, this treatment is quick and easy. As with all injectable treatments, there is a risk of bruising where the injection site occurs which may cause temporary swelling.

Besides staying outside in extreme weather conditions, cold or hot, it is important not to massage or manipulate the treated area. After the polynucleotide treatment, you may return to doing ‘light’ daily activities immediately after your procedure.

Typically the polynucleotides progressively develops over the first 12 weeks following the initial treatment, and you may see an early improvement shortly after the first session. For some of our clients, the positive outcomes of polynucleotides can last up to six months. To maintain the results, follow up treatments aligned to your personalised treatment plan are recommended.
